About Me
I live with my wife in Longfield, Kent, and run a studio for indoor photo shoots and travel to other locations.

I have an attention for detail and a drive for delivering great results. Photography gives me the opportunity to be creative. I am a "people person", friendly, approachable and open to any ideas you have. I've children and grandchildren; and had numerous pets including cats, dogs and other associated furries, so know that the best photos are the natural ones taken when everyone is having fun in a non-stressful environment.

When I don't have a camera in my hand, I'm playing my guitars, going to gigs, or out for walks. I love to travel and spend time with family.

I use software called Capture One in my studio to automatically download the photos from my camera to my computer as they're being taken. This means that during the session you can see drafts of them and get instant feedback on how your photo's will look before I edit them. I have a Capture One certification.

My Inspiration
The two photos of my Gran and Grandad hide a story that intrigues and inspires me and are one of the reasons I became a photographer. My grandfather poses with his pipe and spade in his garden, where he grew vegetables and fruit trees. What I find remarkable, given away only by his left hand, is that he was a triple amputee.
He lost his left arm and both legs as a 14 year old boy in a train accident crossing the tracks. Yet he overcame that terrible experience to later find work as a book keeper, meet and marry my Gran, and have three children -one of which was my father. Apart from tending his garden, he bred and showed champion show bulldogs. Back in the 50's he sold one for a £1,000 which was a fortune back then so he was clearly good at tending to them.

I never knew him and remember little about Gran which is why the photo's are precious to me: Who were these two people? What was it about my Grandad that my Gran decided to date and marry him and have his children? What does it say about my Gran that she chose him? I wish I could go back in time and get to know them both. All I remember of my Gran was that she lived in a house with gas lighting and only had running hot water in a bath room upstairs.
These questions - answers lost to time - left me with a motivation to take pictures that tell a story. I'd like to tell yours.
